FIRST CONTACT PHYSIOTHERAPY SERVICE:-
From 14 January 2019, patients of Family Practice over the age of 16, who present with musculoskeletal problems including back, neck, joint or muscle problems can book to see an Advanced Physiotherapist instead of a GP.
NEW OPTOMETRIC LED PRIMARY EYECARE SERVICE
A NEW/SUDDEN EYE PROBLEMS? SORE EYES? SUDDEN CHANGE IN SIGHT?
Patients can self-refer into the service or be referred by their GP, Practice Nurse, Surgery Receptionist or Community Pharmacist.

Anticoagulation Clinic

The clinic provides onsite blood testing and monitors patients on Warfarin. It is available to all patients taking Warfarin and appointments can be made by contacting our reception.
Asthma Clinic/Respiratory Clinic
The clinic is run by Practice Nurse and provides information, diagnosis and management of chronic respiratory disease especially asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Spirometry and Carbon Monoxide analysis can be carried out at these clinics.
Cervical Smear/Well Woman Clinic
All women aged 20 to 65 are recommended to have regular cervical screening every three years. This simple procedure helps to save lives and is readily available by appointment with Practice Nurse.
Contraception Services
A full confidential service is provided with several of the GPs fully trained in coil insertion/removal, and depot contraceptives as well as provision of emergency contraceptive services when required.
Diabetes Clinic
These clinics are held twice monthly and diabetic patients are seen by a doctor, practice nurse as well as a dietician and podiatrist. This multidisciplinary approach helps patients to get maximum benefit use of one attendance at the health centre.
Heart Disease Clinic
All patients with heart disease are offered an annual check-up to look at their weight, cholesterol, blood pressure, smoking status, exercise status and review their medication.

Child health/immunisation clinics aim to ensure the wellbeing of children up to the age of 5. A planned programme of health, developmental checks and immunisations are available.

The district nursing team are in daily contact with the Practice and are available for advice and care to housebound patients.
Flu Vaccination Clinic
This clinic is held every October/November. All patients aged over 65 as well as patients with compromised immunity are entitled to receive the flu vaccine. This includes patients of any age with chronic heart disease, chronic respiratory disease, chronic renal disease, chronic liver disease, chronic neurological disease as well as those who provide care for those who are ill. The Practice routinely sends for all patients in the specified groups but if you do not receive an appointment for a vaccination and feel you fulfil the above criteria please contact the surgery.
HPV Immunisation Programme
The aim of the service is to offer the HPV vaccine to 17-18 year old girls who would otherwise have been excluded from the HPV programme.
The eligible group includes girls born between 2nd July 1990 and 1st July 1991. The vaccine protects against the two types of the virus that cause (over 70%) of the cases of Cervical Cancer. It does not protect you against all of the other types of HPV, so you will still need to have cervical screening (smear tests) when you are older.
Three injections are given over a 6 month period. This programme is being delivered through Primary Care.
Minor Surgery Clinic
All GPs provide minor surgical procedures. This includes the removal of skin tags, treatment of warts, joint injections and cryotherapy. Please make an appointment for assessment with one the GPs if you require treatment.
